Grief Group

Led by Horses is offering a monthly support group for individuals navigating the river of grief. Grief is difficult to do alone – much less with any clarity. In this small group, we partner with the compassionate horses at Dove Creek Ranch to learn coping practices and build community with fellow human companions on this journey we travel together.

Horses possess an acute emotional awareness that allows them to attune to the feelings of humans, especially those grappling with profound grief or turmoil. Their capacity for authentic presence creates a sacred space where we can confront our most vulnerable emotions without judgment or artifice. Interactions with these majestic yet gentle beings facilitate a non-verbal process of rebuilding trust and processing complex emotions that may have become blocked or stagnant.

Equine-assisted session occur on the ground, side-by-side with the horse, and may involve grooming, leading, or simply being in their calming presence. Through these grounded exchanges, we rediscover the natural flow of our emotional landscape.Sessions typically begin and end with a group circle, but the majority of the time is spent with the horse in our indoor arena.

Laurie Higgins-Kerley and her team of Led by Horses Equine Coaches, and the “Healing Herd” offer their guidance and compassion in a safe space. Dove Creek is a peaceful place of solace for you to reflect, make deep connections, and become aware of the treasures within this experience.

One Session: $50
