A note to potential sponsor:
Every horse needs several sponsors to fully fund their care, averaging $300/month or $3600/year at Dove Creek Equine Rescue.
Frosty is a beautiful 20yo (1999) grey Arabian/Paint gelding who arrived at Dove Creek in the late summer of 2018 as a surrender from Clovis, NM. His owner had passed away and his request was for Frosty to be a “therapy” horse somewhere that had a program helping people using horses. We were contacted and now he is here and acclimating within the herd. With great loss there is often a strong familial attachment to the animals of the loved one, and Frosty was certainly loved by his previous owner. His wife and daughter were torn by having to find him a new home, but also wanted to honor his wishes. We strive to make this transition as smooth as possible to help soothe the hearts and minds of the family surrendering the horse. Frosty has bonded with some equine and human friends already. It’s fun to watch him prancing out in the valley with his beautiful white coloring and flowing stride - hence the name “Frosty”! The volunteers have been working with him and say he is a gentle one, with his soft eyes. We look forward to see what the future holds for this beauty!
