Ember

Adopted July 2022

Ember is a Quarter Horse mare that came to the Rescue in July of 2021 from an owner surrender with EZ. Her previous owner was a veteran that suffered many injuries, his last injury being the worst. He is now a paraplegic and the facility is not in Amarillo. Once her owner learned Ember was not being monitored properly at the boarding facility in Amarillo – he surrendered his horses, but trusted DCER to give them the very best care. Ember has a kind heart and quickly won the hearts of the volunteers and staff.

In July of 2022 – almost a year and a complete transformation later – Ember went to the most beautiful family! This was a true heart connection from first sight. At one point Ember literally took a huge breath and melted into her new momma. “God give me the horse I need not the horse I want” is the prayer that led this family to Ember.

A note to potential sponsor:

Every horse needs several sponsors to fully fund their care, averaging $400/month at Dove Creek Equine Rescue. Monthly sponsorships from $10-$150/month are greatly appreciated!
