Hartley
Hartley is a 13yo (2010) grade quarter horse mare that arrived from another local rescue in March of 2022. Hartley surprised everyone at Dove Creek with a filly later that year! Honeybee, the filly, was a delight for us at DCER to watch grow and thrive since we haven’t had but one other pregnant mares in the last 11 years. Watching Hartley and Honeybea in the first few months was amusing, entertaining, and enjoyable. Once Honeybea was old enough, she was weaned and was adopted early summer to a great family. Hartley has returned to the training program under saddle and doing great! Hartley is smart, surefooted, and enjoys trying new things. She is personable on the ground with good ground manners and does well with haltering, leading, and grooming. She will continue to be in training until she is adopted and will make a great horse for someone who is confident and likes smaller horses.
