Moe is a 22yo (2002) gelding, surrendered to DCER in August 2022. There were many people involved leading up to Moe’s rescue.

Sometimes life can be unfair; hardships hit and caring for ourselves and our animals becomes overwhelming. Moe’s owners could no longer care for him, so a dear friend stepped in and reached out to us for help. After a heart-to-heart with Moe’s owner, we went to visit and knew right away we could provide help. Loading Moe took 4 long, hot hours and once we brought him home to DCER, he was tired and sad – leaving home is never easy.

Since his arrival, Moe has become one of the favorite horses in the barn! He is great on the ground and willing under saddle. Moe came from a home where he did not have any other horses, which leads him to become anxious when away from his friends in the herd. The trainer is working on redirecting his focus from the herd and building connection with the person working him. Moe has ground-covering paces so we recommend him for a confident intermediate rider. Once Moe is focused on a job, he will give everything he has to listen and please. This horse has a big heart! Moe is looking for a home that will continue building the connection with humans that DCER has established. Adopt Moe!
