Prince is a 12yo (2012) off-the-track Thoroughbred that came to DCER in Sept. of 2023 from an owner surrender. Like many horses off the track, Prince suffered through multiple owners before landing at Dove Creek. Prince suffers from a paralyzed flapper which was mostly caused by being overworked and under cared for during his time racing. Upon arrival, Prince did not seem to be bothered by this condition, our main focus has been getting his weight up and addressing his poor manners with the farrier, which we have accomplished both!

Prince had some time off from training to address a few medical concerns with the veterinarian. Prince was cleared to reenter our training program and confirmed that at his age, exercise and light riding are good for him. We believe Prince will be a good fit for an experienced rider who is looking for a horse to take on light trail rides.
