Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference in the community. It is a chance to make a difference in the lives of those who do not have a voice. At Dove Creek Equine Rescue we welcome those that want to help! Volunteer opportunities will depend on your skills and abilities.

Volunteer Schedule

Volunteers come every morning. When you sign up you will learn about start times. All ages welcome! If under 12yo must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All volunteers start at the beginning level with an orientation, then proceed to more responsibilities and opportunities based on knowledge and experience gained.

Activities

Volunteers will have the opportunity to help with:

+ Horse Care & Handling

  • Safety talk
  • Haltering
  • Leading
  • Grooming
  • Seasonally- bathing the horses

+ Facility Maintenance

  • Mucking stalls and pens
  • Cleaning water troughs
  • Fencing repairs
  • Barn/shelter clean-out
  • Painting buildings and signs
  • Gardening, sweeping hay areas

+ Equipment Maintenance – for those qualified per foreman request

  • Tool maintenance
  • Equipment repair
  • Tractor repair and maintenance
  • Vehicle repair & maintenance
  • Trailer repair & maintenance
